Who it's for
Who Kumbaa is for
Any family that wants its tree, photos and stories in one private place, filled in by the people who know them. Some families find it fits especially well.
What they have in common
The family's memory is in pieces. The tree is in one person's head or one notebook. The photos are in shoeboxes, albums and a hundred phones. The stories get told at weddings and forgotten by the next one. Kumbaa gives those pieces one home: a family tree with photos, where each person's page holds their story and every photo they're in.
It's private to your family, everyone you invite joins free, and each of them can fill in the branch they know best. See every feature, or start with a guide like how to make a family tree.
FAQ
Questions
Do I need to know about genealogy to use Kumbaa?
No. Kumbaa is for what your family already knows: who's who, the photos, and the stories. You start with yourself and add people as you go.
Can older relatives use it?
Yes. It runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer, and an elder can simply look around as a viewer while someone else does the typing.
How many relatives can I invite?
Invite the whole family. Whoever starts the archive chooses the plan, and everyone they invite joins free.
Is Kumbaa only for big families?
No. A small family with one box of photos and a grandmother's stories gets just as much from it. The archive grows as the family adds to it.
