What's the main difference?
Storyworth and Remento are about one storyteller, usually a parent or grandparent. Every week they get a question by email or text, they answer it, and at the end of the year the answers become a hardcover book. It's a lovely gift, and a gentle way to get stories told that otherwise wouldn't be.
Kumbaa is about everyone. It's a private site where the family keeps its tree, its photos and a story for each person, and where every member can add what they know. Nothing is printed, and nobody gets weekly questions.
They fit together well: the stories a parent tells in Storyworth or Remento can go onto their page in Kumbaa, beside their photos and their place in the tree.

What do Storyworth and Remento do better?
Getting the stories told. A question a week is easy to say yes to, and a year of them adds up to a book you can hold. Remento captures the storyteller's own voice, which no written page can. Kumbaa has none of that: no prompts, no recordings and no printed book.
What happens after the book?
The book is one person's view, fixed at the moment it's printed. The rest of the family, the other side, the photos in the cupboard and the next generation aren't in it. That's where an archive helps. In Kumbaa, a parent's stories sit on their page, linked to their parents, children and every photo they're in, and anyone in the family can keep adding.
